What is Your Riding Skill Level?

• Level 1: First-Time / Beginner
  First time on a horse, or led rides only (someone holding the rope).
• Level 2: Novice
  Can start, stop and steer at a walk on your own, and keep a steady position at a trot.
• Level 3: Intermediate - Trot
  Walks, trots and stops smoothly; 3+ days of riding in Mongolia with Tsogto (4+ days with other companies).
• Level 4: Intermediate - Canter
  Steady at a canter and can canter on your own; 6+ days of riding in Mongolia with Tsogto (8+ days with other companies); has joined one of our Level 3 tours.
• Level 5: Advanced - Canter Control
  Handles horses of almost any temperament; can keep a continuous canter for about 10 minutes on your own; 12+ days of riding in Mongolia within the past 5 years; has joined one of our Level 4 tours.
• Level 6: Expert - Gallop
  Can gallop on your own for about 5 minutes; 20+ days of riding in Mongolia; has joined one of our Level 5 tours; can calm a horse that acts up and judge the safety of the route.
